Christmas Dating Ideas

The great thing about this time of year is that dating can be extra special. The world is full of magic and romance so here are a few Christmas dating ideas.

Can you feel it? There’s magic in the air. There’s the sound of bells ringing, there’s elves causing trouble all around and that can only mean one thing. 🎵It’s Chriiiiiiiiiiiiistmas!!! 🎵🎄

Some people may think that the magic isn’t quite as strong if you’re single, but I disagree. I think there is more magic in the air when there is the excitement of dating too.

The great thing about this time of year is that dating can be extra special. There are more options than just a drink in the pub or a meal at your local Indian restaurant. The world is full of romance and believe me when I say, it’s yours for the taking.

All you have to do is embrace the dating seen, embrace the season and embrace the magic.

At this time of year, it’s as if all reality goes out of the window and romance takes over. Maybe it’s the universe’s way of telling us we really can live through our favourite chick flick. That you’re allowed to believe in something greater, even if it’s just for a short time.

So, I thought I would share a few dating ideas to get you in the spirit. Ideas that are full of romance and magic that will get even the cynical daters in the mood for love.

My top Christmas dating ideas

Ice-skating

You can’t get more romantic than a skate around the local ice-rink. There’s hand holding, laughing and a great opportunity to be the hero if there’s a little slip!

Winter wonderland

Who doesn’t want to experience the fake snow, the glistening lights, the warm mulled wine, the rides and of course, the chance to tell Santa your biggest wish? If you’re looking for a romantic date, this one has it all!

Visit a Christmas market

Filled with beautifully decorated stalls, you will always find a magical atmosphere at these events. Taste the local ingredients, buy those last-minute unique gifts, and maybe even share a smore over an open fire.

Take a drive

I would only recommend this one for those who have been on a few dates. I don’t recommend getting in a car with someone you don’t know yet. Providing you know each other well enough, take a drive around and check out the decorations. Make a competition of it and rate people’s houses. A fun game whilst enjoying each other’s company.

Snuggle around an open fire

If you’re lucky enough to have a fire in your home, why not cook up a festive feast, lay a blanket down and picnic by the fire? Put on the Christmas lights, play some soft festive tunes, and let the atmosphere glow.

Take in a drive through Christmas film

There is little more romantic than snuggling up in a car whilst watching a romantic Christmas movie.

Bake together

Add a little fun to your date by baking some Christmas cookies together. It’s fun, practical and an opportunity to get messy! 😉

Go Christmas tree shopping

This may not seem like an ideal date but trust me, the smell of pine all around will tickle the senses and leave you with the most romantic memories.

Hot chocolate

Keep it simple and meet in a warm café. Order a Christmas Late or a hot chocolate topped with cream. It will get you in the mood for the festive season. Just watch out for the white moustache!

Attend a Christmas party

A brilliant opportunity to get your glad rags on and dress to impress. A great atmosphere, a few drinks and the conversation will flow. Not too many though unless you’re happy to get caught kissing under the mistletoe!

Christmas is not a time to be down about your single status. It’s a time to get yourself out there, find a date and get in the festive spirit.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas.
