New year, new you, new relationship - a couple laughing

New year, new you, new relationship

If you’re serious about a new you and a new relationship in 2022, dating sites are the place to be but, how on earth are you going to stand out?

Now there’s a new year’s resolution if ever I heard one. A new year, new you and a new relationship.

I’m willing to bet that this is a resolution many of my followers make year after year after year.

  • “This will be my year”
  • “This year, I’m going to work on myself”
  • “This is the year I find love”

Sound familiar?

I don’t want to burst your bubble but by the 12th of January, you’ve probably already ditched the diet, got off the treadmill, cancelled your hairdresser appointment and binged at least one Netflix series.

Am I right? Listen, I’m not trying to be all negative Nelly, but I do want to give you a bit of a reality check.

I want you to find a new you and a new relationship in 2022, so here’s me giving you the kick up the backside you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself and stick to the plan!

This could absolutely be your year. But the chances are, you do have to make some changes.

I don’t want to bang on about Covid, goodness knows we’ve all had enough of it, but it’s changed the world and guess what? It’s changed the dating scene too.

Why?

Because we’ve changed. You are probably not the same person you were two years ago. You’ve been through something huge and that is certain to have an impact.

But here you are, doing all the same things you were doing pre-pandemic. Trying to carve a life and find love in all the same ways.

Don’t you think enough is enough? Don’t you think it’s time to change the way you do things? What’s that saying? “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”? Well, it is broken, and you do need to fix it.

A new year, a new you and a new relationship. It starts today!

The one thing Covid has done is made us more emotionally vulnerable. That’s not a bad thing because as a result, we are now more emotionally available.

We talk about our feelings now. We can empathise with each other about what we’ve been through. Although our experiences are different, the emotional trauma is the same which means we already have a topic of conversation to break the ice with.

But it’s knocked our confidence. We’ve forgotten how to socialise. We lived in sweatpants for nearly a year. We ditched the make-up, let our roots grow out, headed to online dating sites but forgot how to really socialise and we forgot how it makes us feel when we make an effort.

Well, I am ringing time on that era. It’s not over but the light is in sight and now is the time to get rid of the negativity and get yourself back out there. And I mean really out there.

If you’re serious about a new you and a new relationship, then I’ll use the words of Taylor Swift, it’s time to shake it off!

Dating sites are still the place to be. In fact, now more than ever, singles are heading online because over the last couple of years, that’s all we’ve been able to do. So, if you’ve been avoiding it, it’s time to fire up that laptop and get yourself a profile.

But here’s where it gets tricky. If everyone is online now, how on earth are you going to stand out?

Here are a few tips from me about dating online in 2022

Be emotionally available

We’ve been given an opportunity to really connect with others without having to actually meet them. Use this. Although you eventually want to get out and date again, start online and don’t be afraid to share your feelings. I’ve heard on the grapevine, it’s a bit of a turn on these days!

Work on yourself first

Before you can really give yourself to someone else (I’m metaphorically speaking), you need to be comfortable in your own skin. Easier said than done I know but when you create that dating profile, you need to love everything about it. From the picture to the bio, if you think it rocks, others will too!

Ask an expert

I stopped there; did you notice? It wasn’t an error; I just want to focus on that point a little more.

Here’s the thing. When your hair is a mess, you make an appointment with the hairdresser. When your eyebrows need a wax or your nails are chipped, you go to a beautician. I’ll even take it as far as when your car gives you a warning, you take it to a mechanic, so why oh why would you not ask an expert when it comes to dating?

If you’re serious about finding love in 2022 then it’s important to start as you mean to go on. I’ve talked about confidence and loving yourself first so ask an expert to get you on the right track.

What kind of expert am I talking about?

Well, (and yes this is a plug), me. I’m the expert. I have been transforming dating profiles for singles for years and you know what? I get results!

107 women want to meet me, and I've had about 50 messages - and that's just on Plenty of Fish! A much better result than using my passport photo!

So how can I help you?

I’m a photographer and I specialise in making people feel amazing when they’re on the dating scene. I take your inner most vulnerabilities and shine a light on them that’s so bright, you will be irresistible. My dating profile photo shoots are a fun experience that you’ll remember – and you’ll see the benefits instantly.

I’m also a pretty nifty dating profile writer (if I do say so myself). Having an amazing profile picture is one thing but if your profile is off, they aren’t swiping right! It’s about knowing what people want to read and putting your personality across in the right way.

Not convinced? Then book a consultation. It costs nothing and if I achieve nothing else, I’ll give you the boost you need to really find a new you and a new relationship in 2022.
