Hey there, I’m Gemma Wilks, Dating Profile Photographer, Founder of We Just Clicked, and lover of all things dating.

I’d spent two solid years on a variety of dating apps, and do you know what irritated me more than anything? How many guys made little to no effort when it came to presenting themselves – I mean, how is online dating any different to job hunting?

When you’re looking for a job, you spruce up your CV, go to interviews, get a haircut, dress smartly, and generally do everything in your power to create a great first impression.
So why sell yourself short on your search for love?
The only difference between job hunting and partner hunting is that you end up with love and companionship instead of job satisfaction and a salary!
Anyway, I’d just about had enough of online dating, when someone broke the mould.
There I was on a rainy Sunday afternoon, ploughing through the endless scroll of dating app doom, when, hello! There he was.
Finally, a guy who:
- wanted to get noticed
- clearly invests in himself
- wasn't willing to be scrolled-by
- was serious about finding the perfect partner
- made a bloody effort!
His name is Jamie by the way, and I wasted no time in swiping right – we matched, and here we are over 10 years later, loving life and feeling so grateful we met.
